The famous Mariot Marquis as seen from the Hyatt Regency. The Mariot has been used extensively in several movies including the Hunger Games. The Hyatt was used in Sharkey’s Machine.
I'm at the Hyatt for a work conference. It is odd staying at a hotel on your own town.

So that’s where the bag fees go!

I’ve stayed at the Hilton in downtown Atlanta before. That was an experience. The place was nice, but seemed date. It was also 8 years ago.

As big as Atlanta is, and with the traffic, I'm surprised more people don't stay in hotels overnight during their afternoon commute. But yeah, it's weird...you think "Oh, so this is what visitors think of us." I remember coming through ATL customs after 2 months in Europe and I was like "I want to go back to Europe." (fwiw, when I came back through O'Hare once, I was like "I want to be dead. Now."). First impressions for visitors are important.

The Hyatt, Marriott, and Hilton are also ground zero for Dragon Con, so I do a whole bunch of navigating between them once a year.

I stayed at that Marriott Marquis almost 20 years ago, at this point. Interesting building. Also remember the indoor/outdoor pool being kind of neat.
